Israel Apartment
Hey guys,
I will be posting pictures soon from Easter, but in the meantime...
Our potential apartment in Israel fell through early this week. The lady had a change of plans, and she is now moving out May 15th instead of June 15th. The good news is that we have another prospect, which may be closer to campus as well. Here is the info on that apartment: "I live in a 3 story house...easy walking distance to HU. We are renting out
the bottom floor of our house. It is a fully furnished, separate
entrance apartment. It has a nice kitchen, big living area, very
large bedroom with an unsually big en-suite bathroom (toilet, shower
stall, bathtub, vanity with three sided mirror and cabinetry),
additional bathroom and nice patio. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. We are asking $690 for the rent (although I know that $600 seemed to be your limit). The rental price includes the furniture, water bill, arnona
(property tax) and vaad bayit which can sometimes run you up to
$150/month in a standard building. Let me know if you are
interested." Sounds pretty good, huh?...especially since we pay $300 more than that right now.
Besides that, I have learned that it is nearly impossible to get any kind of a street map for Jerusalem. Apparently with all of the tension over there, they don't want just anyone looking at all of the details of Jerusalem. That was true for Google Earth as well. They won't let you zoom in on Israel much at all. Well, I will post Easter news later. Mark and I are still waiting for a final piece of paperwork, so that we can go to the consulate office for our visas. Also, Mark just got his NEW AND AWESOME STAVESACRE CD AND T-SHIRT today, and he is very excited. It sounds really good and was produced by the same guy who produced No Doubt and Slayer. I think this one is going to make them big. Check it out on the link on the right bar: Mark's Favorite Band: Stavesacre!
